Successful Surgery

I’m happy to announce that Emilie’s surgery to close her ductus arteriosus (a valve in her heart that remained open after birth) was successful. This condition is common in most preemies, and surgery is often the primary option. We’re praising God that the surgery was successful!  As a result of the surgery her blood pressure should stabilize and they will be able to aggressively wean her off of the oscillator. These are both very good things.

Once she further stabilizes the doctors want to transfer her to the Kaiser hospital in Hollywood. There she will receive a ventricular reservoir to drain excess fluid on her brain. As you can imagine, Holly and I are not excited about this procedure; however, we know God does all things well.

We have clearly seen God’s hand throughout this entire journey, and we know that anywhere He leads us we will safely go!

I am so very happy to hear about our babies progress!! Am I surprised? No! Why? Because we are a Praying Family! Hold strong to your faith in God! As you are her voice! Please do not allow doubt and fear to get a foot hold in, that’s what Satan wants you to do! God can do anything, but he wants to see how much we trust in him, your faith will see her through! We love you, and our continued prayers will be with you!!

  13. To the Living God be all the glory. I pray that these words of encouragement as the proud parents of your baby girl (Emilie Grace) will touch your heart as it did mind as I read Psalm 139: 13-18 this morning. The Living God, has made all the delicate, inner parts of our body, and knitted us together in our mother’s womb. He has made us individually so wonderfully complex. His workmanship is marvelous, because we are connected to Him we know it. He watched us as we were being formed in utter seclusion. We are woven together in the dark of the womb. The Living God see’s us before we are born. Everyday of our life was recorded in His book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are His thoughts about us. They are innumerable we can’t even count them. They out number the grains of sand, and when we wake up in the morning the Living God is still with us. Just know God is being God. I love you.
