Please Pray For Emilie

Without going into too much detail, tonight Emilie is not doing so well. To put it simply, the doctors say they believe she is sick. Not sick like congestive heart failure sick. But sick like has a cold sick. While normally this would present no major challenge, her early birth and fragile state makes EVERYTHING a challenge. At this moment her blood pressure has drastically declined, her oxygen support has spiked, her mean airway pressure is increasing, they’ve started her back on antibiotics and blood pressure support medication (all of which is not good). Currently the doctors are running several tests on her and are giving her another blood transfusion.

While our faith in the promise of God that our baby will live abundantly has not wavered, walking through the valley of the shadow of death is not easy. As we sit in her room watching all of this taking place, we find ourselves crying out to God, telling Him to “do it already!!!!” And yet nothing changes. The pressure still drops, the oxygen support still increases, and the doctors case against her abundant life grows stronger.

I’d be lying if I said we have not questioned the process and path God has chosen to take us on. Our faith is  challenged daily, and not an hour goes by that doubt does not creep into our minds. And yet for some crazy reason we just refuse to let go of the promise… we refuse to loose hope.

While this by far is the most severe test of faith Holly and I have ever been through, we also know that this will be our greatest victory. July 30th is coming, and everything that takes place from now to then is just the devils last stand. While he tests our faith tonight… he will not win the war. Boom!

Eph 6:12,13 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Therefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand in the evil day….”

  14. Good morning Holly and Seth,
    Isaiah 40:31 but they that wait on The Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
    There is a spiritual battle going on in your mind right now. I declare in the name of Jesus that no weapon form shall prosper over your mind right now in Jesus name! God said Emile shall live and not die! Said out loud! When u do u will feel your strength coming back. U will not be weary! You will run in the spiritual realm! You will not faint! God is able!!! This is your sun stand still moment! This is is your Goliath experience and the battle is not yours, it belongs to The Lord! I will b speaking this prayer throughout the day over u guys. I will be holding up your arms when they get tired in the spiritual realm!!!!

  15. Heb. 12:2
    “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross…”

    Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangly dim, in the light of His Glory and Grace.

  17. I remember when I gave birth to Isaac 10 months ago. I was so excited to bring him home one day after he was born. It seemed as if everything was fine. I had, what I considered, a healthy baby boy. But 3 days later we were back in the hospital. He had jaundice and his bilirubin count was high, 16 and rising. The doctors told me that if it got to 20 that he could have serious brain damage.They needed it to be at 12.

    As JD and I contemplated on what was happening, we prayed and asked God to heal swiftly. I just knew that it would drop and we would be back home. On day 2 Isaac’s bilirubin count rose to 19… The doctors suggested that I give him formula because they weren’t sure if he was getting enough milk so he could have a bowel movement to get the bilirubin count down. He had had more lights on him than the normal patient and they were worried that it would keep rising. We couldn’t understand why what seemed like a 1 day hospital visit was turning into more. When the morning of day 3 came, his bilirubin count dropped to 18.5 although he had not had a bowel movement. My husband and I rejoiced and knew that God was answering and just knew we would be going home. When night came, his count was still barely going down so the doctors had us stay another night. He was in the light all day and all night and still did not have a bowel movement to bring the jaundice down. What was God doing?!?

    We prayed and prayed, and asked God to help him pass. 5 o’clock on the 4th day came. His bilirubin count was steady at 17 and if it did not reduce significantly we would be there another day. When the phlebotomist came for the 12th time to draw blood from his 7 day old little body, we had come to a place that we would wait on God and not rush him. We knew that God was in control and that He knew what He was doing. We knew that whatever God allowed to come our way, good and what seemed bad, was for our shaping; was for our salvation. So we continued to trust Him in the midst of our chaos.

    About 7 o’clock Sabbath morning, Isaac had a bowel movement…after his blood was drawn. I thought, “why after?” We needed the bowel movement to lower his bilirubin count so we could leave the hospital! Just then the nurse came in…Isaac’s blood test showed that his bilirubin count dropped to from 17 to 11.5. PRAISE GOD ALMIGHTY!!!! God showed up and showed out!!! He showed us that He didn’t need Isaac to pass in order to work a miracle and instead of dropping it to 12, it dropped to 11.5!!!

    I know that what you all are going to through is not even close to what we went through. And your days in the hospital is so much longer… I just know, from my humble testimony, that God is a Sovereign God. He is in control of all things and that ALL things work together for the good of them who love the Lord. God gives us the strength to go through whatever He allows us to go through. He gives us peace in the midst of our storms. He gives us rest in the midst of darkness. Seth and Holly continue to trust Him. Rest in Him. You may not know why this trial is here, but know that God IS your peace, your rest, your strength! Lean on Him. This is all for His glory and take hope that Jesus is coming soon! I know while you are in the midst of this it’s seems so hard. You want to cry and scream at the same time! You don’t understand or know why. Trust Him. He loves you, Holly, and Emilie-grace more than His own life…Trust His love.

    With love and continual prayers,

    Anna and JD

    Day by day, and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.
He, whose heart is kind beyond all measure,
Gives unto each day what He deems best,
Lovingly its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.

    Every day the Lord Himself is near me,
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me,
He whose name is Counsellor and Pow’r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
“As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,“
This the pledge to me He made.

    Help me then, in every tribulation,
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation,
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E’er to take, as from a father’s hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till with Christ the Lord I stand.

    When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
    when sorrows like sea billows roll; whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
    It is well, it is well with my soul.

    Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
    let this blest assurance control,
    that Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
    and hath shed his own blood for my soul.

    My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
    My sin, not in part but the whole,
    is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
    praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

    And, Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
    the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
    the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
    even so, it is well with my soul.

    It is well with my soul,
    it is well, it is well with my soul.

  27. Seth and Holly, we, some of your Huntsville family are living this harrowing ordeal with you as you watch and pray for your precious Emilie. Please know that our thoughts and continuing prayers are with you. We’ve seen the pictures of your tiny daughter and feel now like she belongs to all of us. We can only imagine how this is stretching your faith to its limits. But we believe, as you do, that God, in His infinite wisdom, does not allow needless suffering. He sees little Emilie, loves her even more than we know, and loves both of you. He already has His answer to all the fervent prayers. I pray for your strength, patience, endurance and peace as you wait on the Lord to reveal His answer. God bless you both! We love you! Aunt Claudia & Uncle Carl.
