Ok, she doesn’t need to literally pass gas… but we need her to be able to pass gas. Let me explain. Yesterday we met with the doctor and he informed us that because they have not yet given her any food, her stomach should be filling with some gas. This gas is an indicator that her stomach is working and that when she is given food it will be properly processed. However up until this point the doctors have been unable to find any gas, which leads them to believe that her gut is not working.
Also, the doctors are fearing that there is a small puncture wound in her esophagus. If this is true, it will cause further complications when feeding her. Without being able to perform the necessary procedures to determine the extent of the wound, the doctors are extremely hesitant to move forward with giving her food.
Prayer Focus
Holly and I ask that you please pray for these two areas: 1) that her stomach begin working properly, and 2) that the puncture wound in her esophagus would heal asap!
We know our God is the great physician who does not practice medicine, but He is medicine… and nothing is too hard for Him!

The Living God is straightening everything out and putting things in its rightful place, according to His word and His will in His timing. A miracle child has been born. God hears your hearts desire, and He will answer, and give you peace of mind, because He loves you.
Heavenly Father, watch with us over your child Emilie Grace and grant that she may be restored to that perfect health which it is yours alone to give. We pray that you touch her inside organs and relieve her of her obstacles, guard her from all danger, restore to her your gifts of gladness and strength, and raise her up to a life of service to you.

If anyone knows that miracles do happen, it’s me…my miracles have happened in other ways…but this I do know, miracles do happen. God has a greater plan and purpose than we all can see right now and He’s sustaining Emilie Grace for HIS purpose…God WILL get ALL the Glory. Thank you for trusting in God. Pastor, you and Holly’s faith and testimony has already touched many lives. I can’t wait to see Emilie Grace running around playing with the other children at our wonderful church!
OUR Father, which art in heaven, we love you Lord. Thank you for loving us and giving us another day to praise your holy name. Forgive us for our sins. Please, in the name of JESUS, help little Emilie’s esophagus to heal and help her stomach to work. Please be with her mom and dad and continue to give them peace and strength. Please be in the minds and hands of the doctors and nurses taking care of Emilie Grace and give them wisdom from on high, knowledge, and understanding as they help emilie and all the other babies in the NICU. Hi Holly and Seth. I just came upon your blog, but I’ve been praying since the day I heard Emilie was born. God is an awesome Healer and I just pray for her continued progress. . that she will pass gas and be able to eat, that the puncture will heal, that the bleeds will stop and her brain will be just fine. What a witness you are to others, not only those dealing with similar situations, but to all those who are dealing with various struggles and trials in this life! Thank you for being that example of faith! Also, I thank you for sending the video birthday wishes to my mom in the midst of your struggles. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
